A reported Au occurrence located in sec. 16 (??), T10N, R10E, MDM, S or SSE of Cold Springs. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 10,000 meters (sic).
NOTE: There is obvious doubt concerning the location of this occurrence. USGS MRDS file #10029899 provides coordinates placing it in sec. 21, T10N, R10E and provides no section number in the T&R values presented. MRDS file #10211273 provides geographic coordinates placing it in sec. 10, T10N, R10E, MDM, placing it in sec. 10, despite the fact that the same file states that it is in sec. 16. Sections 10 & 21 are contiguous to sec. 16 (to the NE and to the S, respectively). It is apparently somewhere in the vicinity of sec. 16.
Local rocks include Mesozoic granitic rocks, unit 3 (Sierra Nevada, Death Valley area, Northern Mojave Desert and Transverse Ranges) and/or Jurassic marine rocks, unit 1 (Western Sierra Nevada and Western Klamath Mountains).
