A former lode Au occurrence/mine located in the N½ sec. 34, T12N, R10E, 0.7 km (0.4 mile) ESE of Garden Valley and E of Johntown Creek (just S of the Black Oak Mine), on private land. Operated by Dudley G. Davenport. Operated in 1934; thereafter, it was worked jointly with the Black Oak Mine (sec. 27). MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 1,000 meters. Tailings were deposited in sec. 34.
Mineralization is a vein deposit on the Mother Lode. The deposit is similar to that of the Hart Mine. Local rocks include Jurassic marine rocks, unit 1 (Western Sierra Nevada and Western Klamath Mountains).
Workings include surface and underground openings comprised of a 280 foot crosscut adit and open cuts.
