A former lode Au occurrence/claim/mine located in the SE¼SW¼ sec. 8 & in the NE¼NE¼ sec. 17, T12N, R10E, MDM, 2.1 km (1.3 miles) E of Greenwood (3 miles WSW of Georgetown), N of Georgetown Creek. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 500 meters.
Mineralization is a vein deposit. hosted in rocks of the Mariposa Formation. Local rocks include Jurassic marine rocks, unit 1 (Western Sierra Nevada and Western Klamath Mountains) and/or Mesozoic volcanic rocks, unit 2 (Western Sierra Foothills and Western Klamath Mountains).
