A former lode Au mine located in the NW¼NW¼ sec. 6, T9N, R11E, MDM, about 3 km ESE of El Dorado, along Martinez Creek (2 miles S of Diamond Springs), on private land. Property was comprised of 3 claims totaling 60 acres with 3,000 feet on the lode. Operated by Mary Ann Simpson C/O J. P. Conroy. Operated prior to 1914 and again in 1929. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 100 meters. State reference gives location as sec. 12, T9N, R10E, but geographical description of location and the USGS quadrangle Placerville, California, show the location as stated above.
Mineralization is a vein deposit hosted in Mariposa slate. The ore body strikes N20E and dips 80W at a thickness of 0.91 meter. Local rocks include Jurassic marine rocks, unit 1 (Western Sierra Nevada and Western Klamath Mountains) and/or Paleozoic marine rocks, undivided, unit 4 (Western Sierra Nevada).
Workings include underground openings comprised of a 100 foot inclined shaft with a level at 100 feet with drifting.
