A former lode Au occurrence/claim/prospect located in secs. 35 & 36, T13N, R10E, MDM, about 6.6 km SW of Volcanoville (2 miles NE of Georgetown), along Canyon Creek at its confluence with Antwine Gulch. Operated in 1894. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 1,000 meters.
Mineralization is a vein deposit situated on a porphyry seam belt. Local rocks include Jurassic marine rocks, unit 1 (Western Sierra Nevada and Western Klamath Mountains) and/or ultramafic rocks, chiefly Mesozoic, unit 2 (Western Sierra Nevada and Klamath Mountains).
Workings include underground openings comprised of a shaft (2 men were sinking it in 1894).
