A former lode Au mine located in secs. 15 & 22, T12N, R10E, MDM, 1.3 km (0.8 mile) SE of Fornis and 2.6 km (8,600 feet) SSW of Georgetown, on the divide between Manhattan Creek and Empire Creek, NNE of Bald Hill. Operated prior to 1896. MRDS database accuracy for this location is not stated.

Mineralization is a vein deposit hosted in rocks of the Calaveras Complex (Mariposa slate). The ore body strikes N and dips 60E at a thickness of 3.66 meters. Local rocks include Mesozoic volcanic rocks, unit 2 (Western Sierra Foothills and Western Klamath Mountains).

Workings include underground openings comprised of a 350 foot cross cut adit with a 200 foot N drift and a 90 foot shaft. A 10-stamp mill was erected.

No production record was found.

Analytical data results: The ore contains 2% sulfides.
