A former Cr occurrence/mine located in the SE¼ sec. 13, T8N, R9E, MDM, about 4.35 km ESE of Latrobe, along the W bank of Big Canyon, on private land. Operated by Stanley S. Bryant. Operated briefly in 1918. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 500 meters. The deposit was exposed by floodwaters from Big Canyon Creek in 1918.

Local rocks include Mesozoic volcanic rocks, unit 2 (Western Sierra Foothills and Western Klamath Mountains).

Workings included surface dragline dredging operations (for Au) which uncovered the ore body and excavated large blocks of chromite, the size of which indicate the presence of a moderate-sized body of ore.

Production is unknown.
