A former lode Au mine located in sec. 1 & on the W edge of sec. 12, T8N, R10E, MDM, 1.9 km (1.2 miles) SSE of Nashville, along East Big Canyon Creek, on private land. Operated in the 1890's, 1909, 1914, 1932 to 1936, and 1940 to 1941. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 100 meters. The Last Chance claim is on the N and the Baldwin is on the S.
Mineralization is a vein deposit hosted in amphibolite and slate. The ore body strikes N10E and dips 66SE at a thickness of 4.57 meters. The vein dips 60 to 72SE and averages 15 feet in thickness. The hanging wall is amphibolite and the footwall is slate. Local rocks include Mesozoic volcanic rocks, unit 2 (Western Sierra Foothills and Western Klamath Mountains).
Workings include underground openings comprised of a 200 foot 70 degree inclined shaft with levels at 100 and 170 feet, a NE drift adit to the shaft and a 500 foot winze. Stoped from the 100 level to surface.

Production statistics: Year: 1935: 3 grams Au/metric ton.
