A former lode Au mine located in the NW¼ sec. 6, T11N, R12E, MDM, 0.9 km (0.5 mile) N of Slate Mountain (coordinates of record) (W slope of the mountains; ¾ mile by trail from the road), W of Slate Canyon and E of the Slate Mountains, on private land. The property consisted of 3 claims. Owned by Frank Dean (1934). Operated circa 1934. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 500 meters. May be the mine shown in the S½NW¼ on the USGS topo map .
Local rocks include Paleozoic marine rocks, undivided, unit 4 (Western Sierra Nevada).
Workings include underground openings comprised of 2 adits at 50 feet and 240 feet, respectively.
Several hundred tons of ore were mined from the surface (1934).
