A former lode Au mine located in sec. 7, T12N, R10E, MDM, 0.9 km (0.6 mile) ENE of Greenwood, S of highway 193. Claim is 20 acres. Operated in 1894 and 1926. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 1,000 meters. Bulletin 108, Pl. II shows the "Bordt" Mine in the SE¼ sec. 7 and in the NW¼ sec. 17.
NOTE: USGS MRDS file #10006981 presents file #10187439 as a related file for this property; however, it seemingly is unrelated since it pertains to a property named simply "California" in sec. 15, a sec. only tangentially adjoining sec. 7 by a common corner to the SW.
Mineralization is a vein deposit hosted in slate. The ore body strikes W and dips 60N at a thickness of 1.22 meters. Local rocks include Mesozoic volcanic rocks, unit 2 (Western Sierra Foothills and Western Klamath Mountains).
Workings include underground openings comprised of a 60 foot drift adit.
