A former placer Au occurrence/hydraulic & drift mine located in secs. 8 & 17, T10N, R11E, MDM, 1.0 km (0.6 mile) ESE of Placerville proper, along Spanish Ravine. Property is comprised of 25 acres. Operated in 1896. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 1,000 meters.
Local rocks include Jurassic marine rocks, unit 1 (Western Sierra Nevada and Western Klamath Mountains).
Workings include surface and presumed underground openings. Deposit was first hydraulicked and later worked by drifting.
