A former lode Au mine located in the NE¼NE¼ (center NE¼) sec. 24, T11N, R10E, MDM, 1.6 km (1.0 mile) ESE of Kelsey, in the headwaters area of Texas Canyon, on private land. Property consists of 10.3 acres. Operated by T. C. Smith, Jr. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 500 meters.
Mineralization is a vein deposit. The ore body is 0.91 meters thick. This deposit is located in the hanging wall of the Mother Lode. Local rocks include Jurassic marine rocks, unit 1 (Western Sierra Nevada and Western Klamath Mountains).
Workings include underground openings comprised of a 100 foot shaft and a 150 foot adit.
Produced a large number of pockets.
