A Au-Pb-Cu occurrence/mine located in sec. 23, T12S, R19E, SBM, 2.8 km (1.8; 9,300 feet) SW of Imperial Gables, along the W side of Ninemile Wash. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 1,000 meters.
Mineralization is hosted in granite. The ore body is irregular, strikes N10W and dips 60W at a width of 7.62 meters. Controls for ore emplacement included fractures. A 15 to 25 foot wide dike is present. Galena occurs in irregular branches in the dike. Local rocks include schist of various types and ages, unit 2 (Southern and West-central California).
Workings include underground openings with an overall depth of 6.1 meters. A 20 foot shaft was sunk on the footwall side of the dike.
Analytical data results: 5 ounces Au/ton; 20 to 30% Pb.
