A former Cu occurrence/mine located in the S½ sec. 1, T14S, R22E, SBM, 5.3 km (3.3 miles) S of Picacho. The property is comprised of 160 acres. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 500 meters.
Mineralization is a vein deposit hosted in schist. The ore body is irregular in form, strikes NW and dips 50SW. Controls for ore emplacement included shear zones. The country rock in the southern half of the area is a dark gray metavolcanic rock containing numerous blastophenocrysts of sericitized orthoclase. The remaining prospects are in metasandstone and metaconglomerate. Mineralization appears for a mile in length and about ¼ mile in width. Low-grade ore is exposed in open cuts. Siliceous outcrops occur at the N end of the deposit with chalcopyrite. Local rocks include pre-Cenozoic metasedimentary and metavolcanic rocks undivided and/or Tertiary volcanic flow rocks, unit 15 (Southern Mojave Desert).
Workings include surface and underground openings comprised of 5 shafts at 50 to 75 feet deep and a number of trenches and open cuts.
