A baryte occurrence located in the E½ sec. 12, W½ sec. 13, T9S, R20E, SBM, 5.3 km (3.3 miles) WSW of Thumb Peak (coordinates of record) and 18.1 km (11.2 miles) WSW of Palo Verde, along the NW end of the Palo Verde Mountains. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 500 meters.
Mineralization is a vein deposit. The vein is 6 feet wide at the N exposure and runs discontinuously southward along a fault zone for 0.5 mile. Excavated vein estimated at 70 to 80% baryte. A second, narrower, vein is 600 feet to the W. Local rocks include Tertiary nonmarine rocks, undivided.
Workings include underground openings comprised of an open cut 50 foot long, 10 feet wide and 8 feet high.
