A former Mn occurrence/mine located in the SE¼ sec. 29, T9S, R21E, SBM, 4.1 km (2.6 miles) N of Palo Verde Peak (coordinates of record) and 8.2 km (5.1 miles) SSW of Palo Verde, on Bureau of Land Management administered land. Discovered in 1953. First produced in 1954. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 100 meters.
The ore body strikes N15W and dips 5E at a thickness of 1 meter and a depth-to-top of 5 meters, width of 5 meters and a length of 30 meters. Ore body No. 1 is tabular in a fissure vein. Ore body No. 2 is a shear zone and No. 3 is breccia fill. The primary mode of origin was hydrothermal activity. Primary ore control was faulting and the secondary control was igneous activity. Wallrock alteration is moderate (argillic and sericitic). Local rocks include Quaternary alluvium and marine deposits.
Workings include unspecified surface and underground openings (the topo map reflects 2 prospect pit symbols labeled "prospects" about 200 to 300 meters W of this point).
