A former Ag-Pb occurrence/mine located in the NW¼ sec. 30, T9S, R15E, SBM, 11.0 km (6.8 miles) WNW of Lion Head Mountain (coordinates of record) and 18.8 km (11.7 miles) NNW of Iris and 14.6 km (9.1 miles) NNE of Niland, on the S tip of a small hill at the southern base of the Chocolate Mountains, on military reservation land (Chocolate Mountains Naval Aerial Gunnery Range). MRDS database accuracy for this location is not stated.

Mineralization is a vein deposit hosted in schist. The ore body strikes N-S and dips 45W at a width of 1.52 meters and a length of 45.72 meters. Mineralization is parallel to the foliation in schist and is comprised of sparse, blue copper staining in parts. A narrow rhyolitic dike is exposed at the top of the hill to the W. Local rocks include Quaternary alluvium and marine deposits.

Workings include underground openings comprised of an inclined 75 foot shaft.

Production information: 100 tons of ore were mined.

Analytic data results: 7.4% Pb; 2.5% Cu; 0.96 ounce Ag/ton; 0.11 ounce Au/ton.
