A clay deposit located in secs. 6 & 7 and in the NW¼ sec. 8, T16S, R9E, SBM, 5.9 km (3.7 miles) WSW of Carrizo Mountain (coordinates of record), 11.5 km (7.1 miles)) NW of Coyote Wells, along the southern margin of the Coyote Mountains. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 1,000 meters.
A deposit of high-silica, low-alumina clays. The ore body is bedded. Local rocks include Plio-Pleistocene and Pliocene loosely consolidated deposits and/or Mesozoic granitic rocks , unit 2 (Peninsular Ranges).
Workings include surface openings comprised of trenches and open cuts.
Analytical data results: Analysis by an unknown source: SiO2 = 53.50%; Al2O3 = 14.10%; Fe2O3 = 3.90%; MgO = 3.62%; CaO = 6.80%; Na-K = 3.98%; LOI = 14.16%.
