A former Au mine located in the W½W½ sec. 36, T14S, R20E, SBM, 6.3 km (3.9 miles) NW of Obregon, in the northern Cargo Muchacho Mountains (5.8 miles NE of Ogilby siding). MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 500 meters.
The deposit is an irregular zone adjacent to a fault trending E-W and dipping steeply S in granite. There is little wallrock alteration or silicification. Local rocks include Mesozoic granitic rocks, unit 3 (Sierra Nevada, Death Valley area, Northern Mojave Desert and Transverse Ranges) and/or Quaternary alluvium and marine deposits.
Workings include underground openings comprised of a 40 foot vertical shaft with an irregular stope at the 15 foot level.
Production information: 400 tons produced.
