A Au occurrence located in sec. 2, T12N, R1E, HM (? - see following note), 9.3 km (5.8 miles) WNW of Erner, on National Park land.
It seems likely that this is an incorrect location. Though shown on fig. 3, of the PSFC Report and Bulletin 179, fig. 9, no other reference could be found, though old reports were searched. The hydraulic mine on Ossagon Creek was on the seashore in sec. 9. Sec. 2 is 2 miles inland on headwaters of McGarvey Creek, on which there is no mention of Au.
Local rocks include rocks of the Franciscan Complex, unit 1 (Coast Ranges).
