Köppen climate type:
A Cu occurrence located 6.2 km (3.8 miles) N of Sugarloaf Hill, in the valley between Brushy Ridge and Gravelly Ridge. MRDS database accuracy for this location is not stated.
NOTE: The cited MRDS database file states: "ON THE HOOPA INDIAN RESERVATION." The Hoopa Indian Reservation is located in Humboldt County. Further, it states that this locality is located in sec. 2, T8N, R4E, HM, a value placing it in Humboldt County. It does provided geographic coordinates placing it in Glenn County, as well a reference clearly pertaining to Glenn County. The MRDS database seemingly has 2 locations with the same name confused. Two additional MRDS files pertain to "COPPER BLUFF" and state that that location is located in Humboldt County with the same T&R value; however, those files also provide geographic coordinates placing it in Humboldt County. Glenn County and Humboldt County are not contiguous counties.
Mineralization is float containing Cu minerals. Local rocks include ultramafic rocks, chiefly Mesozoic, unit 3 (Coast Ranges and Western Klamath Mountains).
NOTE: The MRDS file contains conflicting data regarding the mineralization. It states that the ore is float containing Cu minerals, but then states that the ore is sphalerite. The MRDS files pertaining to the Copper Bluff locality on the Hoopa Indian Reservation, Humboldt County, clearly details a polymetallic lode deposit with sphalerite ore; therefore, the probable mineralization for this locality is the copper float.
