A Mn occurrence/prospect located in the S½ sec. 35, T19N, R7W, MDM, 0.4 km (1,400 feet) SSW of Elephant Hill (coordinates of record) and 4.1 km (2.5 miles) ESE of Triplet Butte, on National Forest land (located claim). Operated by H. D. Bruce, Brown and Moore. Discovered in 1942. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 1,000 meters.

Mineralization is a Mn deposit. A bed of black manganese oxides 4 feet thick, is underlain gradationally by a bed of massive, yellow-brown chert 5 to 8 feet thick. The structure of the ore bed is complex and may be a faulted anticline. The ore bed and the underlying chert are enclosed in thin-bedded red and green chert with shale partings. Scattered clusters of brown radiating crystals may be bementite. Local rocks include rocks of the Franciscan Complex, unit 1 (Coast Ranges).

Workings include surface openings comprised of a open cut 10 feet wide and 10 feet deep, driven 40 feet.

production information: About 40 tons of ore had been removed and piled in dumps around the cut. This ore probably averages 40 to 45% Mn.
