A diatomaceous earth prospect located in the W½ sec. 20 & in secs. 21 & 22, T2N, R4W, MDM, 0.3 km (0.2 mile; 900 feet) SW of Bayview-Montalvin. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 500 meters. Idle. No commercial production of diatomite has been reported. Some of the Pawsey deposit has been quarried as road fill. Locations corrected on later publication.

Deposit crops out over a considerable area in and W of Pinole. Not sufficiently pure to be commercially exploited for diatomite. Local rocks include Plio-Pleistocene and Pliocene loosely consolidated deposits and/or Miocene marine rocks.

Workings include surface openings.
