An asbestos occurrence/prospect located 1.1 km (0.7 miles) ESE of North Peak (coordinates of record) and 3.1 km (1.9 miles) W of Marsh Creek Springs (populated place), along Perkins Canyon, on state-owned land (Mount Diablo State Park). MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 500 meters.
Mineralization is cross-fiber asbestos veinlets in highly sheared serpentine. The fibers are brittle and less than ¼ inch (0.62 cm) long. Local rocks include rocks of the Franciscan Complex, unit 1 (Coast Ranges).
Workings include underground openings comprised of a shaft (now caved).
