A Cu-Hg occurrence/mine located in the NW¼NE¼ sec. 27, T1N, R1W, MDM, 2.1 km (1.3 miles) WNW of nEagle Peak (coordinates of record), 4.1 km (2.5 miles) SSW of Clayton, and 5.1 km (3.1 miles) W of Mount Diablo (coordinates of record), on state owned land (Mount Diablo State Park). MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 500 meters.

Mineralization is a vein deposit hosted in diabase. The deposit is in a shear zone and consists of a network of Cu veinlets. Chrysocolla and copper oxides occur in a network of carbonate veins in diabase. A trace of Hg was detected in an ore specimen. Local rocks include Mesozoic volcanic rocks, unit 1 (Coast Ranges).

Workings include underground openings comprised of an adit bearing N80W at over 50 feet long with a winze 30 feet from the portal dipping N.

Production of Cu from the Mount Zion (?) Mine i9n 1912 and 1918 less than 40,000 pounds.
