A Cr occurrence/prospect located in sec. 24, T11S, R23E, MDM, 1.2 km (0.7 mile) S of Green Mountain and 3.3 km (2.0 miles) E of Humphreys Station. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 500 meters.

The ore body is irregular in shape. Local rocks include pre-Cenozoic metasedimentary and metavolcanic rocks undivided.

The chromite deposits of Watts Valley occur on the eastern limb of a synclinal, NE-plunging, ultramafic sill. The eastern limb, known as Hog Mountain, is a little over 1 mile wide, while the western limb, which forms Red Mountain, averages 3 miles wide. The 2 limbs join to the NW and together form a discontinuous, triangular exposure of peridotite 10 miles long and 8 miles wide across the base.

Workings include underground openings comprised of two groups of workings. The upper adit is 200 feet long, trending N45E, plus a raise to surface from a point 60 feet inside the adit, plus an underhand stope 45 feet long and deep below the raise. The lower workings include an underhand stope 160 feet long and 100 feet lower than the upper adit.

This mine is supposed to have yielded several carloads of ore.
