A former W mine located in the SW¼ sec. 21, T10S, R26E, MDM, 4.1 km (2.5 miles) S of Dinkey Creek (town), along Dinkey Creek (stream) (E side of the creek), on National Forest land. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 500 meters.
Mineralization is hosted in hornfels. The deposit consists of vertical layers of tactite 3 to 20 feet wide and 125 feet long. The ore pinched out at 50 feet of depth. Associated rocks include diorite. Local rocks include Mesozoic granitic rocks, unit 3 (Sierra Nevada, Death Valley area, Northern Mojave Desert and Transverse Ranges).
Workings include surface openings comprised of an open cut 180 feet long, 35 feet wide and 50 feet deep at its lowest point. Ore was treated in a gravity concentrator.
