A Cu-Au occurrence/prospect located in sec. 36, T11S, R23E, MDM, 4.3 km (2.7 miles) SSE of Humphreys Station in the headwaters area of Sales Creek (½ mile NE of the Copper King). MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 500 meters.
Mineralization is a vein deposit with the vein averaging 3 feet (0.91 meter) thick, hosted in limestone. The vein splits and has decidedly branching tendencies. The E wall is a gray diabase associated Taio schist. Local rocks include ultramafic rocks, chiefly Mesozoic, unit 2 (Western Sierra Nevada and Klamath Mountains).
Workings include surface and underground openings with a length of 121.92 meters, and comprised of a 30 foot deep shaft, a 60 foot tunnel, which runs NE, another tunnel 20 feet below the first at 180 feet long. A third tunnel had been started in 1908. Some open cvuts and shallow holes were on the surface.
Analytical data results: 15-19% Cu and $5/ton of Au (period values).
