The ore body strikes N60E and dips vertical. Manganese-stainecd metachert crops out at intervals for a distance of 300-350 feet along the strike, which is N60E. Oxidation has extended for at least 4 or 5 feet below the surface. No garnet was seen but the crumbly brownish-black to black oxide indicates its presence. Material is low-grade and of no economic importance. Samples assaying 54% Mn oxide was said to have been obtained here. No more than 10 to 12 tons of such material could be obtained. Local rocks include Paleozoic marine rocks, undivided, unit 4 (Western Sierra Nevada).
No development work has been done.
