A Cr occurrence located in the S½SE¼ sec. 1, T3N, R11E, MDM, 2.8 km (1.7 miles) NNW of Mount Ararat (coordinates of record) and 4.2 km (2.6 miles) SE of Buena Vista Mountain (coordinates of record), in the headwaters area of the N-flowing stream in the valley between Hogback Mountain (ridge) and Bear Mountains (ridge). MRDS database accuracy for this location is not stated.
Local rocks include Jurassic marine rocks, unit 1 (Western Sierra Nevada and Western Klamath Mountains).
No serpentine shown on map GQ-222 in section 1. Township report in 1945 shows sectioon 1, but later references (Bradley, et al & Cater) show section 2.
