A former lode Au mine located in the NW¼ (estimated) sec. 3, T2N, R13E, MDM, 1.1 km (0.7 mile) S of Angels Camp. MRDS database accuracy for this location is not stated. Deposit was mined for roofing granules during the period 1925 to 1941.
Mineralization is a vein deposit hosted in greenstone. The ore body strikes NW and dips NE at a thickness of 7.32 meters. The vein is hosted in slabby greenstone. Local rocks include undivided pre-Cenozoic metavolcanic rocks, unit 2 (undivided).
Workings include underground openings comprised of a 325 foot shaft with levels at 100, 200 & 300 feet, plus an adit.
