A former lode Au mine located in the SW¼ (estimated) sec. 11, T2N, R13E, MDM, 1.7 km (1.0 mile) NW of Carson Hill (town), on the south side of Carson Flat (2 miles SE of Angels Camp). MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 500 meters.
Mineralization is a vein deposit hosted in greenstone and slate. The ore body strikes NW and dips NE at 15.24 meters thick. The vein zone is 20 to 50 feet wide, on the Mother Lode, with a greenstone hanging wall and a slate footwall. Local rocks include undivided pre-Cenozoic metavolcanic rocks, unit 2 (undivided).
Workings include underground openings comprised of a 45 foot shaft.
