A former lode Au mine located in the SE¼ (estimated) sec. 16, T3N, R12E, MDM, 3.7 km (2.3 miles) E of Mount Ararat and 3.4 km (2.1 miles) SW of Fourth Crossing (7 miles W of San Andreas). Operated in 1889. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 100 meters.
Mineralization is a vein deposit hosted in slate and diabase. The ore body strikes NW and dips NE. Quartz stringers cut grey slates in a diabase dike. Local rocks include Jurassic marine rocks, unit 1 (Western Sierra Nevada and Western Klamath Mountains).
Workings include underground openings with an overall depth of 21.34 meters and comprised of several shallow shafts, with one to 70 feet.

A small amount of Au was produced in 1889.
