A former lode Au mine located in the S½ sec. 5 and in the N½ sec. 8, T4N, R13E, MDM, 2.3 km (1.4 miles) WSW of Mountain Ranch, on the ridge S of Eldorado Creek. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 100 meters.
NOTE: See also the file for the Rose Hill No. 2 Mine, which in Logan (1936), was listed with these claims as "Rose Hill, et al" even though the claims were not contiguous. The overall area for both is 120 acres.
Mineralization is a vein deposit hosted in slate. The ore body strikes NW and dips NE at a thickness of 5.49 meters. Vein varies up to 18 feet thick. Local rocks include Paleozoic marine rocks, undivided, unit 4 (Western Sierra Nevada).
Workings include underground openings comprised of a 120 foot shaft and an adit 700 feet long.
