A former lode Au mine located in the S½ sec. 12, T5N, R12E, MDM, about 4 km ENE of Jesus Maria, N of the Victory Dude Ranch (5½ miles E of Mokelumne Hill). MRDS database accuracy for this location is not stated.
Mineralization is a vein deposit hosted in mica schist with diorite dikes. Local rocks include Paleozoic marine rocks, undivided, unit 4 (Western Sierra Nevada).
Workings include underground openings with an overall depth of 225.55 meters and comprised of a 740 foot, double compartment, vertical shaft. Crosscuts were driven on the 200, 400, 500 and 700 foot levels, totaling several thousand feet.
Best was said to be found on the 700 foot level.
