A placer Au occurrence located in sec. 27, T4N, R12E, MDM, about 3 km WNW of Calaveritas. Property consisted of 20 acres. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is uncertain.
NOTE: There are apparently 2 USGS MRDS database files pertaining to this locality. File #10028886 appears to be the most accurate. File #10211666 provides geographic coordinates placing this locality far into Tuolumne County yet presents a MAS-MILS file number in the series for Calaveras County. Both files present the very same reference for the locality, including page number. It would seem that this latter file is in error.
Local rocks include Paleozoic marine rocks, undivided, unit 4 (Western Sierra Nevada).
