A former lode Au mine located in the SE¼NW¼ sec. 4, T2N, R13E, MDM, 1.8 km (6,000 feet) SW of Angels Camp. Operated during the 1890's and in the early 1930's. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 100 meters.
Mineralization is a vein deposit on the Mother Lode. It is a quartz vein with stringers hosted in slate and green schist. The ore body strikes N45W and dips NE. Local rocks include undivided pre-Cenozoic metavolcanic rocks, unit 2 (undivided).
Workings include underground openings copmprised of an open shaft and a N crosscut adit.
