A former lode Au mine located in sec. 5, T5N, R15E, MDM, about 6.1 km (3.8 miles) WNW of Dorrington, 3½ miles N of White Pines, and about 10 miles E of Glencoe. Operated in the early 1870's and in 1914. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 500 meters.

Mineralization is a vein deposit hosted in Late Permian slate. The ore body strikes E and dips 85N at a thickness of 1.52 meters. The vein is 2 to 5 feet thick with ore shoots. There are three 100 foot wide ore shoots, 3 feet thick in the upper adit. Local rocks include Paleozoic marine rocks, undivided, unit 4 (Western Sierra Nevada).

Workings include underground openings comprised of a 1,100 foot crosscut lower adit and a 1,200 foot crosscut adit 300 feet above, and a shaft.

Production data are found in: Clark, Wm. B. & P.A. Lydon (1962).

In the early 1870's, the mine yielded up to $3,000 per week (period values). A small amount of Au ore was produced in 1914.
