A former asbestos mine located in sec. 3, T1N, R12E, MDM, 1.9 km (1.2 miles) SSW of Copperopolis. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 5,000 meters. Mine employment in 1975 was 38.
Local rocks include Jurassic marine rocks, unit 1 (Western Sierra Nevada and Western Klamath Mountains).
