A former lode Au mine located in the SW¼ sec. 30, T3N, R14E, MDM, 1.2 km (0.8 mile) SSW of Vallecito. Operated in 1896. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 100 meters.
Mineralization is a vein deposit hosted in granite and slate. The ore body strikes W and dips 80S at a thickness of 0.3 meter. The vein has a granite hanging wall and slate footwall. Local rocks include Mesozoic granitic rocks, unit 3 (Sierra Nevada, Death Valley area, Northern Mojave Desert and Transverse Ranges).
Workings include underground openings comprised of a 70 foot deep shaft.
