A former lode Au mine located in the SE¼ (estimated) sec. 19, T2N, R12E, MDM, 1.3 km (0.8 mile) NNW of Hodson (site) and 3.2 km (2.0 miles) SE of Felix (3½ miles NW of Copperopolis). Operated in the 1890's and during the period 1935 to 1936. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 100 meters.
Mineralization is a vein Au deposit hosted in greenstone. Local grologic structures include a series of diorite dikes. The ore body strikes NW and dips 45NE. The deposit is a series of quartz veins and diorite dikes. Local rocks include Mesozoic volcanic rocks, unit 2 (Western Sierra Foothills and Western Klamath Mountains).
Workings include surface and underground openings comprised of an open pit and a 90 foot inclined shaft.
Production data are found in: Logan, Clarence August and Franke, H. (1936).
It was estimated that 50,000 tons of ore were blocked out, averaging $3 to $4 per ton (period values).
