A stone (crushed/broken) deposit located in the NE¼ sec. 24, T4N, R11E, MDM, 2.5 km (8,400 feet/1.5 miles) WSW of San Andreas, along the South Fork Calaveras River. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 100 meters.
The upper portion of a 110 foot vertical drill hole penetrated unfractured, massive augitic greenstone. The lower portion was in finer grained, fractured greenstone. Local rocks include Jurassic marine rocks, unit 1 (Western Sierra Nevada and Western Klamath Mountains) and/or Mesozoic volcanic rocks, unit 2 (Western Sierra Foothills and Western Klamath Mountains).
Workings include diamond drilling to investigate the suitability of rock for use as roofing granules.
