A former lode Au occurrence/mine located in sec. 16 (?), T4N, R13E, MDM, about 4.35 km S of Mountain Ranch. Prospected around 1896. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 5,000 meters.
Mineralization is a 1 foot thick vein deposit hosted in slate and mica schist. Local rocks include Paleozoic marine rocks, undivided, unit 4 (Western Sierra Nevada).
Workings include underground openings comprised of a shaft and drift adit. The ore was treated in a 2-stamp mill.
