A former placer Au occurrence/drift mine located in sec. 11, T4N, R11E, MDM, about 5 km NW of San Andreas, along Latimer Gulch (7 road miles NE of Valley Springs). MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 500 meters.

Mineralization is a placer Au deposit reputedly located on the Kreamer and/or Deep Blue Lead plaeochannels, which are said to course W on this property. The average thickness of the gravel is 5 feet. The gravel is cemented together by sulfides. The values were found as free gold and in sulfides. Large boulders occur here. The bedrock is lava. Local rocks include Jurassic marine rocks, unit 1 (Western Sierra Nevada and Western Klamath Mountains) and/or Mesozoic volcanic rocks, unit 2 (Western Sierra Foothills and Western Klamath Mountains).

Workings include underground openings comprised of a 500 foot long tunnel driven W, followed by a flat 200 foot incline S, from which there is a 150 foot drift W, followed by a 150 foot drift SW. All work was done on the Benson "flow," a small channel about 100 feet above the Deep Blue paleochannel.
