A former lode Au mine located in sec. 15, T5N, R13E, MDM, about 7.3 km N of Mountain Ranch (3 miles S of Railroad Flat). Operated prior to, and during, 1917. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 500 meters.
Mineralization is hosted in greenstone and slate. The ore body strikes N22W and dips 80NE at a thickness of 0.46 meter. Local rocks include Paleozoic marine rocks, undivided, unit 4 (Western Sierra Nevada).
Workings include surface and underground openings with an overall depth of 30.48 meters, and comprised of a 100 foot shaft and an open cut.
