A stone/slag deposit located in the NW¼ sec. 3, T1N, R12E, MDM, 1.8 km (1.1 miles) S of Copperopolis, on the divide between Copper Creek and Sawmill Creek. Operated in 1949. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is .
Local rocks include Mesozoic volcanic rocks, unit 2 (Western Sierra Foothills and Western Klamath Mountains).
Workings include underground openings (??).
Sold crude slag to be used in the manufacture of rock wool. In 1950, by-product glass beads were screened, bagged, or sold in 3 sizes as blasdting sand. Crude slag was also crushed to 10 sizes at Copperopolis and was being sold as blasting sand.
