A former lode Au-Cu mine located in the SW¼ (estimated) sec. 35, T5N, R10E, MDM, 1.0 km (0.6 mile) SSW of Camp Pardee (1½ miles NE of Campo Seco). Operated during the gold rush and during the period 1935 to 1936. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 100 meters.
Mineralization is a vein deposit hosted in amphibolite, schist and slate. The ore body is lenticular in form, strikes N30W and dips 60NE at a thickness of 3.05 meters. Iron gossan croppings on the surface were said to be rich in Au. Local rocks include Mesozoic volcanic rocks, unit 2 (Western Sierra Foothills and Western Klamath Mountains).
Workings include underground openings comprised of a 500 foot inclined shaft with levels at 300, 380 and 500 feet. A 250 foot NW, and 400 foot SE drifts were driven on the 300 level. Also, a SW crosscut adit was driven.
