A former placer Au-Ag occurrence/mine located in secs. 33, 34 & 35, T3N, R10E, MDM, 3.5 km (2.2 miles) S of Jenny Lind, along South Gulch. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 100 meters.
Mineralization is a placer Au-Ag deposit hosted in gravels. The Robie Ranch gravel deposit has an average depth of about 7 feet and is thought to test about 25 (?) per cubic yard. The bedrock is volcanic tuff. Portions of the gravel are lava capped, and in a few places, the gravel is partly cemented. Local rocks include Miocene nonmarine rocks.
Workings included surface operations with a dragline dredge. From 2,000 to 3,000 cubic yards of gravel were treated daily in 1936. 3 men were employed.
In 1940, 86,000 cubic yards of gravel yielded 615 ounces of Au and 37 ounces Ag at the Hunt Ranch. At the Robie Ranch, 414,000 cubic yards of gravel yielded 2,287 ounces Au and 145 ounces Ag.
