A former lode Au mine located in sec. 11, T4N, R11E, MDM, about 4.35 km (about 2 miles) WNW of San Andreas, along Latimer Gulch (on the W side of Central Hill). Mined extensively in the 1870's. Active in 1893. Prospected during the period 1928 to 1929. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 500 meters.
Mineralization is a vein deposit with a vein 3 to 5 feet thick hosted in greenstone and slate. The ore body strikes N45W and dips NE at a thickness of 1.52 meters. Local rocks include Jurassic mars ne rocks, unit 1 (Western Sierra Nevada and Western Klamath Mountains).
Workings include surface and underground openings comprised of 2 open shafts at 100 and 300 feet deep and open cuts.
