A former Au-Ag-Cu-Sb mine located in sec. 14, T6N, R14E, MDM, 6.2 km (3.9 miles) ENE of Fuchs, and 1¼ miles W of Buck Mountain, in the headwaters area of Dutch Creek, on National Forest land. Operated in the 1860's, 1870's, and during the period 1935-1936. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 100 meters.

NOTE in MRDS file: Both references agree on locationm but platted on Blue Mt map in sec. 14 T6N R14E - these are UTM locations. References give location as sec. 18, T6N, R15E - no evidence on map of mine in this locality.

Mineralization is hosted in granodiorite, diorite, and gneiss. The ore body strikes N3W and dips 61W at a thickness of 1.22 meters. The principal vein outcrop can be traced for 1,000 feet and is the middle vein, with a granodiorite footwall and porphyry hanging wall. Two other veins occur on the property. The East vein strikes N and dips 78W, and the West vein strikes N16W and dips 42W. The outcrop of the East vein is traceable for 3,000 feet and is 8 feet (2.6 meters) wide, while the West vein is 30 inches (75 cm) wide. Local rocks include Paleozoic marine rocks, undivided, unit 4 (Western Sierra Nevada).

Workings include underground openings. The property is developed by a 50 foot shaft and a drift driven N for 150 feet at the bottom. There is also an open cut. The West vein is developed by a drift driven N for 350 feet.

Production data are found in: Logan, Clarence August and Franke, H. (1936) & in Clark, Wm. B. & P.A. Lydon (1962).

Production statistics: Year: 1935: ^0.86 ounces (24 grams) of Au and 4.1 ounces (116 grams) Ag per ton.

Analytical data results: From ore to the smelter in 1935: Au & Ag as per values presented above; Cu: 0.2%, As: 0.05%, Sb: 0.2%, Fe: 3.6%, lime: 1.0%, insolubles: 93.2%.
